The Dog Park

Warning: more pictures of Daisy...sorry, still haven't found other subjects :)

Since the weather had finally started getting nicer (funny I say that...currently there is a good 2 inches of snow on the ground, and it's still coming down...only in the midwest...) we've been taking lots of trips to the dog park. Daisy's favorite park is Heritage, where there is lots of room to run around. She also likes going to Shawnee Mission, where there are lots of trails. Even though I get made fun of (ahem, Matt...) I love to bring my camera when we go to the dog park. Daisy is just too cute when she's running around and playing with her doggy friends. :)

These next pictures are from our last few trips to Heritage. I decided to combine them all into one post instead of a post for each trip. However, that being said, I cannot make any promises that there won't be a lot more posts like this once the weather warms back up again. :)

I absolutely love this picture. You can tell I don't have much of a zoom lens (YET), but I still think it's awesome how tiny Daisy looks with that huge lake behind her. And her little curly tail just kills me...
Daisy's favorite thing to do at the dog park is to play fetch with her dad.
Once he throws that ball, she is gone. And whenever he has the ball out, Daisy has a one-track-mind. She could care less that there are 10 dogs trying to play with her, all she cares about is the ball!
Shameless plug for Matt's company. :) Great advertising, huh?!
Daisy likes going to the park with her cousin, Mackey - the horse aka Great Dane. They both will go to the lake to get a drink, but absolutely will not go in any deeper than they can reach. :)
Mackey and her mom, Shelley.
Don't they look like they are having a deep conversation here...
Daisy also loves going to the dog park with her other cousins, Tank and Roxy. Here they are walkin' along (singin' a song...siiiide by side... :)
They didn't want to pose for very many photos that day, but this was one (of maybe two) times when Tank looked up at me.
Again with the water. She will avoid the deep water like the plague, but give her a mud puddle like this and she will tromp right through it. (I think she just likes to make us wash her off when we get home...)
One of the times we went to Heritage, I decided to take some shots of the scenery as well...

These next shots are pretty awesome if I may say so myself. I believe you call this "flare" (or so I've seen on other professional photographer's blogs ;) I have no idea how I did it, other than point the camera right at the sun, but a couple of the shots came out really cool looking.

And my favorite picture of all...my baby walkin' along with all the doggys...

Fun in the Backyard

Saturday afternoon we took Daisy out in the backyard for some fun time with her ball. It was a nice afternoon, and Daisy had some energy to burn off... (when does she not?!)

I took my camera out with me...and took a ridiculous amount of pictures in the 30 minutes we were outside! :) But lots of them were cute...
My name is Daisy, and this is my ball. Wanna play?!
she's getting really good at catching the ball in mid-air!

Aww, isn't he just the cutest?! :)

She is just such a happy puppy...

I'm chewing on my ball...don't mess with me...

No more pictures...please...
And this one's my favorite...
Na na na na boo boo, you can't catch me...

Rock Chalk!

I've been watching March Madness while I blog today...and I just watched as KU made it into the Sweet Sixteen! I must say they have already exceeded my expectations. Just had to give some love to my alma mater...ROCK CHALK!

The Adventures of Daisy and the Squirrel

In the past month or so, Daisy has made a new friend in our backyard...

Meet Mr. Squirrel...
He's kind of tough to spot, he blends in to the tree...
Daisy and Mr. Squirrel have developed this game...basically Daisy tries to climb up the tree and catch him, while he taunts her...

yeah, my dog has some serious ups........

This was all very funny and cute at first...but now it's downright annoying. Daisy busts out this psychotic, high pitched bark when she chases him, that I'm sure our neighbors just love. Matt has threatened to "take care of" the squirrel on more than one occasion...he seriously just waits outside in that tree for Daisy to come and "play". Once she's out there he makes this growling, almost laughing sound to taunt her.
Animals are amazing...

Family

If you know me at all, you know I am a big family person. I have a big family, and I love spending time with them. Every Saturday, my mom, myself, my aunts and my cousins (and occasionally the boys will join us) go over to my grandma (Mama T)'s house for lunch and then shopping. We also celebrate birthdays on our Saturdays. A few weeks ago we celebrated my aunt Rhonda's...er....29th?...birthday. I snapped a few photos of the fun...

opening presents...

This is my other aunt, Terri, and my uncle Keith.

Aunt Terri with Matt

We all bring our dogs over to Mama T's on Saturday...they love to play (ok who am I kidding they really love all the chicken they get ;) Here's Daisy helping with the dishes... This is my cousin Shelley's horse...oh I mean dog, Mackey.

My mom's little princess, Sandy
My parents' other dog, Jake
These are Terri and Keith's little girls, Kali (the black one) and JoJo (who taught Daisy allllll the secrets to getting the most chicken :)

Daisy

Here are some more of my favorties that I've taken of Daisy in the past couple weeks - like I mentioned before, I don't have many subjects to shoot... :)

Showing off the "bling" collar that Mommy got her for Christmas :) (it matches her cousin Roxy's)

someone's getting tired of all the pictures...
I took these next couple when we were on our way to the dog park one evening. We got stuck at a train, and Daisy was so interested in all of the smells and noises outside.
probably about time to wipe down my side mirrors, huh....

I couldn't decide if this one was cuter with her eyes closed or open...so you get both!

It really is a miracle that I narrowed about 400 images of my stinky-poo down to those 8...but don't worry. I have a few more posts up my sleeve for today (and several include Daisy :)...
