{week 32}

{please excuse the odd face I'm making in this picture...not really sure what that's all about}

Week 32 (Jan 5 - Jan 11)

This week started off intense.  That's about the only word I can use to describe it.  Saturday, we went to look at one last house.  We were pretty sure this one would be our favorite, between the size, being pretty new, the location, and the price.  And we were right.  We were ready to sign a lease on the spot, but the owner had a TON of people interested in the house, and had to let others come through, and collect applications, and then decide on who he wanted to lease it to.  So we had to leave, go on with our day, and just hope and pray that he would pick us.  We had another Bradley class, ate some dinner, packed a few boxes, and all during that time looked at our phones every 5 minutes hoping for an update.  We found out that evening we were one of the final 3 contenders, and just had to fill out the application and he would make his decision {is this starting to feel like American Idol to anyone else? ;) }.  By this time it was like 9:00pm, so we went ahead and sent the application off, and attempted to go to bed.  I say attempted, because I pretty much just tossed and turned all night, thinking about whether or not we were going to get this house, and what we were going to do if we didn't get it {we had one other top pick, but found out the night before that it had been rented.  we had several other houses that would work, but none had quite the level of awesomeness as this one, so we would have been "settling", and I wasn't too fond of that idea}.  So after hours of even worse sleep than I normally get, I gave in and checked my phone around 8:00am, and low and behold there was an email from the owner!  I shot out of bed, woke Matt up, read the email, and was SO excited to read that he had chosen us!  I'm still not sure how we got so lucky, but we couldn't be happier. Our plan to sleep-in was then shot, so we went ahead and got up, and went out to breakfast to celebrate. :)  Later that day we met our new landlord at the house to sign some paperwork, and drop off the deposit, and then we got back to packing!

The rest of the week has just been more packing, and a lot of list-making.  I have lists for the lists I need to make... it's getting ridiculous.  But there is so much to do when you move!  I haven't done this since college, and back then I had way less crap, and way fewer things to deal with {I was moving from an apartment to my parents house...hello, easy-peasy compared to this}.  So, needless to say, I have been feeling a bit overwhelmed  but at the end of the day WE HAVE A PLACE TO LIVE, and that is very comforting. :)

Here is a sneak peek of our new diggs... not the best picture {taken before we had even seen the inside, back on New Year's Day when we did a drive-by...yeah, we're stalkers}

So now we have a week left to pack up our entire house, and next weekend we move.  And then the next day I have my first baby shower. Nothing like cramming everything all at once, right! ;)

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention...we also had a doctor's appointment this week!  We had an ultrasound to check growth, and baby girl is measuring at 4lbs 3 oz, and had a strong heartbeat {I think it was 130}.  She is actually in the perfect position for birth, assuming she doesn't do any more flips, so that's great news as well.  Although from how it feels, she does about 12 flips a day so who knows.  Dr. C estimates she will be a 7 1/2 lb baby.  I have one more bi-weekly appointment, and then I start going every week.  WOAH. That means it's almost time to push this girl out.  AHH!  I'm trying not to think too much about that, and focus on moving and getting settled for now.  Then I will attempt to throw a nursery together in a matter of weeks, and THEN maybe I'll feel ready for this girl to actually arrive. Maybe. :)

Size of baby: Squash

Total weight gain/loss:  43 lbs. {up another 9 lbs in the last month... I'm calling it water retention.  Yeah, water retention.}

Maternity clothes? I discovered maternity hoodies this week {online for buy one get one free and free shipping, no less}, and I think I'm in heaven.

Stretch marks? Not yet

Sleep: Ha!

Symptoms: Still battling carpal tunnel.  I asked my doctor about it, and she recommended a brace.  We went and got one at CVS and I've been wearing it at night, but I don't think it's doing much.  Hooray.  I'm increasing the frequency of my acupuncture appointments, hoping that might help, but at this point I'm not getting my hopes up.  It sounds like this awesomeness isn't going away until after baby girl gets here.  Fantastic..

Best moment this week: Finding out that we got our house!

Movement: I'm considering renaming this kid Wiggle Worm.  She is just all over the place, all the time!  And the hiccups.  I have started counting, and she gets them at least once or twice, usually more like THREE TIMES A DAY. {She's already had them twice today, and it's not even Noon}  Goodness, child!  I asked the ultrasound tech about it, and she said there is nothing wrong with it, and it's a good sign, so not to worry.  Ok lady, but really?!  Poor kid, that must be annoying having the hiccups all the time!  Oh well, it's still pretty cute, and I'll take tiny hiccups any day over a jab in the ribs.

Food cravings: I think I have determined that chocolate has been my craving throughout this pregnancy.  I've always loved chocolate, so I hesitate to call it a full on "craving", but I have sure eaten a lot of it the past 7 months. :)  I could probably live on Chocolate Chip Pancakes alone.  YUM.  So even though there haven't been any pickles & ice cream situations, or sending Matt out at 2am for fried chicken... I think I can still call Cherry Coke and chocolate the official cravings of this pregnancy. Not necessarily together... although Chocolate Chip Pancakes with a cherry coke to drink kind of sounds amazing right now...

Anything making you queasy or sick: nope!

Gender: GIRL!!!!!!

Belly Button in or out? Still in...barely.

Wedding rings on or off? Off.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy and stressed.  Don't see an end to that anytime soon.

Looking forward to:  Finishing packing!  It seems like that's all I've done for weeks now...I'm over it.  Hopefully unpacking will me much more exciting...ha!

{week 31} Happy New Year!

{yeah, I'm behind again.  This was written at the end of week 31, just didn't get around to posting until now.  story of my life}

Week 31 (Dec 29  Jan 4)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Holy cow, I cannot believe it is 2013 already.  What happened to 2012??  It was quite a year, I must say.  And 2013 is looking to be quite a year as well...there is a lot in store for us!  Someday I might actually write one of those "looking back on the year and resolutions for the new year" posts, but no promises.  Life is pretty much insanely busy right now, and it's not looking to slow down any time soon.

Anyway, we started off this week by looking at houses.  And then we pretty much spent the remainder of the week looking at more houses!  It was a long weekend with the holiday, and that was definitely a nice treat!  New Years Eve was Monday, and although Matt had to work a few hours in the morning, we spent the afternoon running a few errands trekking through the snow, and then enjoying a nice warm lunch at Panera.  That afternoon I set up as many house showings as I could, and then we went to dinner with my parents that evening.  As the snow continued to fall, we actually were content with the idea of spending NYE at home together on the couch, but at about 9:00 Matt convinced me that we should spend our last child-less NYE with friends.  So out we went to a friend's house, to ring in the New Year.  I'm glad we went, it was a fun time, but NYE certainly isn't the same when you are 7 months pregnant and completely sober.  Just saying.  Although, for the first year ever, we made it home by 1am, and got up at a decent hour feeling just fine and dandy the next day!  (because of the snow, I didn't play DD this time, so Matt wasn't allowed to really drink much)  No getting home at 4am and sleeping until Noon like in years past.  Yes, we are officially old.

So New Year's Day was rather uneventful, we just hung out at home and then went and looked at 2 houses.  Then we grumbled about the holidays being over, and having to go back to work...blah.  The rest of the week has been kind of a blur...basically we were either working, packing, or looking at a house at any given time.  I think we have looked at 6 houses so far, maybe more, and haven't quite found the perfect one yet.  We have 2 more to look at, though, so we still have some options.  Hopefully by next week's update we will actually have made a decision.  :)

Size of baby: Pineapple

Total weight gain/loss:  34 lbs.

Maternity clothes? Are still awesome.

Stretch marks? Not yet

Sleep: Same old story.

Symptoms: Carpal Tunnel sucks.  That's all I have to say.

Best moment this week: Ringing in the New Year, and thinking of all that is to come in 2013 for us.  Also, stopping to realize that it was our last New Year's Eve as just the two of us.

Movement: More and more every day.  And this girl definitely takes after her father, getting the hiccups all. the. time.

Food cravings: Cherry Coke.  I know, not the greatest craving as it involves caffeine {although my doctor has okay'd 1-2 servings a day - thank goodness}, but I can't get enough.  I have been carefully planning my caffeine allotment around meals where there is potential to have a Cherry Coke.  I thought I had hit the jackpot when I came back to work and discovered Cherry Coke in our vending machine, but after buying one I realized it was a Cherry Coke Zero.  And expired.  So that was quite a disappointment.

Anything making you queasy or sick: nope!

Gender: GIRL!!!!!!

Belly Button in or out? Still in...barely.

Wedding rings on or off? Off.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy and stressed.  I'll just leave it at that.

Looking forward to:  A doctor's appointment next week with an ultrasound, and (hopefully) finding our next place to live! :)
