{one month}

holy cow.  how is it possible that my baby is a month old already??  yes, I know everyone says it, but wow does time fly.  the first 2 weeks seemed to creep by in a blur of visitors, diapers, and learning to breastfeed, and then all of a sudden here we are at one month already.

so, yeah, I couldn't decide on how to do these monthly photos.  so there's two.  one in a cute outfit with the chalkboard, and one in the monthly onesie {made by my awesome friend Nicole as a shower gift} with some stats.

And, for my own memory's sake, more about Lilly at one month:


Stats ~ 9lbs 14oz {75th percentile}
            21 1/4" long {50th percentile}
            14 1/2" head circumference {35th percentile}

Sleeping ~ I'm afraid to even put this in writing, for fear of jinxing it, but so far we are incredibly lucky, and our girl usually sleeps around 7 hours at night.  I know!  I feed her right before we go to bed, and she'll normally sleep anywhere between 5-7 hours {usually closer to 6 or 7}, wake up to eat, and then sleep another 3-4 hours.  It's fabulous.  She is a HEAVY sleeper too, holy cow.  Some nights she'll pass out before we go to bed, and it's nearly impossible to wake her up to eat.  We will smother her with kisses, take off her clothes and tickle her, change her diaper, wipe her face with a washcloth...all of the classic tricks, and she just snoozes away through them all, occasionally making a funny face or grunting at us.  I need to get it on video, it's quite entertaining. {we only woke her up to eat through the night for the first 2 weeks, now we just wake her up for one last feeding before we go to bed - hello, maximum mom and dad sleep!} Let's just say that the girl takes after her mom in the sleep department. :)

Eating ~ we have been exclusively breastfeeding since day one, and so far it's going well.  We had a few hiccups in the beginning {both figuratively and literally!}, but both of us have pretty much gotten the hang of it now, and as you can see by her weight gain, she's eating like a champ!  Looks like we have a little chunker on our hands :)  We introduced the bottle at about 3 1/2 weeks, and she's had no problem with that either.  Daddy enjoys getting to feed her once a day {and mama enjoys the break!}

Likes ~ tummy time {she started holding her head up on her own in the first week...strong girl!}, bath time {she actually slept through the first half of her bath the other night...}, naps on daddy's chest

Dislikes ~ getting woken up, diaper changes in the middle of the night...that's about it.  this girl is one happy baby!
